Square Dance Associations, Federations, and Other Groups

The National Capital Area Square Dance Leaders Association  is the oldest square dance leadership organization in the mid-Atlantic region.  Jim has been a member since 1990.

The Washington Area Square Dance Leaders Association (WASCA) is an association of 90 or so square and round dance clubs in Maryland, DC, Northern Virginia, and West Virginia.  Jim and Ann enjoy attending the WASCA Spring Festival in mid-March of each year.

CALLERLAB, the International Association of Square Dance Callers, is square dancing's professional leadership.  CALLERLAB provides member services such as BMI/ASCAP licensing and liability insurance, maintains dance program lists and definitions, and provides accreditation and certification programs for callers, square dance teachers, and caller-coaches.

Legacy, the Leadership, Heritage and Communication Resource Center of the Square Dance Activity.

The Lloyd Shaw Foundation Preserving America's Dance Heritage - dance camps, catalogue of dance music and materials.

United Square Dancers of America - The World's largest square dance organization is the only one of national scope organized and operated by dancers.

U. S. Handicapable Square Dance Association -With the motto of "Only for the Fun of it," USH promotes square dancing for handicapable (persons with developmental disabilities) dancers and holds conventions in even numbered years.

DelMarVa Square Dance Federation is a group of ten square and round dance in Delaware and clubs on the Maryland and Virginia eastern shores of the Chesapeake Bay.
